Telco Systems and Arm to present Optimized Edge Cloud Use Case with Arm-based uCPE at Arm TechCon 2018

Alex Trigoub, Product Line Manager at Telco Systems, and Kshitij Sudan, Server Solutions Architect at Arm, will hold a joint presentation on “Optimized Edge Cloud Use Case with Arm-based universal CPE (uCPE)” at the Arm TechCon 2018 Conference, which will take place on October 16-18, 2018 in San Jose.

uCPE is one of the first commercial edge computing use cases. A key challenge is effective deployment of multiple virtual network functions (VNFs) on a cost and power-efficient device.

In the presentation, which will be held on October 17, Telco Systems and Arm will discuss how Arm TrustZone can be utilized to enhance device and network security with HW-based isolation of operating system (OS) trusted firmware and VNFs. The talk will also touch on the software and system-on-chips (SoC) aspects and advantages of creating an Arm-based uCPE solution.

During the Arm TechCon event, Telco Systems will present and demonstrate its NFVTime open, plug-and-play uCPE solution and ecosystem for Arm at the Innovators Pavilion.

The cooperation is part of the multiyear joint development agreement signed by the two companies. As part of the agreement Telco Systems will lead the development of new Arm-compatible uCPE and network functions virtualization (NFV) Edge solutions based on Arm architecture.

Telco Systems will also lead a multiyear development program that will include the productization of existing prototypes for uCPE devices, specifically those based on NXP and Marvell/Cavium SoCs, and advanced, service-ready uCPE and NFV Edge solutions.

Some 4,000 engineers, architects, developers and product designers are expected to participate at Arm TechCon, which showcases the latest advances in Arm’s world-class architecture, from silicon design and software development to platform security and  internet of things (IoT) solutions.
