An interesting insight offered by Forbes magazine in their article ,“Cloud Computing: Ticket to the Corner Office?”, cited a study that shows a majority of CIOs, 54%, believe that cloud computing has enabled them to spend more time on business strategy and innovation. Will cloud services enable IT to become more strategic and ultimately change the position of IT within businesses?
It would be interesting to see if, as part of the move from enablers to drivers, IT people will influence how businesses can improve services to their employees and customers. This could only happen if their service providers can assure security, scalability, resiliency and latency for these new cloud services. The cloud-network infrastructure can’t be ignored and it must taken into consideration. Do you believe the carriers’ infrastructure is ready to carry and offer cloud services?
