40G ATCA Solution Speeds Next Generation Telecom Networks

MANSFIELD, MA, February 2, 2011 -- Telco Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of BATM Advanced Communications (London stock exchange BVC) and pioneer in carrier telecommunications solutions, has announced a 40G ATCA switch blade to enable next generation mobile applications such as LTE and 4G as well as metro Ethernet, security and military applications that require high performance and high availability. Telco Systems’ T-HUB4 delivers simultaneous 10G and 40G connectivity to support AdvancedTCA™ service modules.
T-HUB4 delivers an extensive networking software suite, BiNOX™ to provide state of the art connectivity, including switching, IPv4/IPv6 routing, MPLS, QoS, protection and redundancy, and clock synchronization to the ATCA platform. BiNOX is Telco Systems’ field-proven, carrier-grade networking operating system offering superior control and security while delivering wire-speed Layer 2-4 networking. Devices powered by BiNOX are widely deployed in critical carrier and enterprise networks worldwide.

Available in March, 2011, the Telco Systems T-HUB4 provides up to 14x40G fabric backplane interface, eight 10G front panel interfaces plus two 40G front panel interfaces for outbound traffic.
The Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (AdvancedTCA) specifications are a series of PICMG specifications targeted to requirements for the next generation of carrier grade communications equipment. This series of specifications incorporates the latest trends in high speed interconnect technologies, next generation processors and improved reliability, manageability and serviceability.
