Carrier Ethernet over MPLS

Ethernet over MPLS enables service providers to offer Ethernet services to enterprise and metropolitan networks which can be carried across a common, converged, single infrastructure, i.e., an MPLS backbone, without changing the existing service models. EoMPLS can create an Ethernet virtual LAN between geographically dispersed sites and appear as though they are on a common Ethernet network.

While EoMPLS supports mesh topology, any-to-any, virtual private networks (VPNs), it also offers very good traffic engineering and Quality of Service (QOS) capabilities. These QoS features can assure appropriate levels of service for different types of traffic.

Most networks today provide a few services that usually require very few levels of priority, if any, and are considered to be best effort networks. As operators migrate to Ethernet and start to support multiple services, they need to start controlling the network in a more efficient, more optimized way. MPLS, from a scalability point of view, increases the number of services that can run on the access and aggregation network.

Historically the problem with moving MPLS closer to the customer – or into the access network – it is very complex not only from engineering standpoint, but also from provisioning and monitoring.

Telco Systems MPLS Solution

We provide the ability to cost-effectively and efficiently extend their Carrier Ethernet service into the core MPLS network using AccessMPLS to map customer traffic into existing MPLS-based networks in a transparent manner.

By combining a comprehensive set of OAM features and elaborate MPLS capabilities, Telco Systems offers service providers the ability to extend intelligent services to the customer’s edge and offer higher-margin SLA-based services.

Take the first step in deploying your network!
