Press Releases  08 July 2008BATM Makes Offer to Purchase Vigilant Technology Deal would add intelligent IP surveillance and security solutions to BATM’s OfferingKfar Netter, Israel, July 08, 2008 – BATM Advanced Communications (BVC:LN) a leading provider of carrier-class transport and access solutions for public and private IP and TDM networks, announced today that it has made an offer to purchase Vigilant Technology (VGT:AIM), a worldwide leading provider of intelligent IP surveillance and security solutions. The transaction will enable BATM to expand its business to include a complete range of high-end digital CCTV surveillance systems and intelligent video content analysis. Vigilant Technology specializes in software and hardware which enables the capture, storage, archiving, retrieval and analysis of video and audio data from a large number of devices. The company will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of BATM, and will maintain an R&D team and research facility located in Tel-Aviv, Israel, as well as sales offices in the UK and USA. Commenting on the acquisition, Dr. Zvi Marom BATM CEO said, “The intelligent IP based digital video/audio solutions developed by Vigilant Technology will enable us to penetrate new markets with a complete portfolio of surveillance and security platforms and expands BATM’s offering into IP applications.” These target markets include transportation, gaming, municipalities, correctional facilities, finance, banking, and logistics. Vigilant has an installed base of more than 85,000 high-end channels worldwide including leading casinos in the US, Her Majesty’s Prison Service in the UK, local authority boroughs and shopping centers. Major customers include the Hong Kong airport and the Israel Diamond Exchange.
