Telco System wins FirstLight deal to supply demarcation and aggregation devices

Telco Systems has won a contract from FirstLight, a leading provider of high-speed data, Internet, data center and voice services to enterprise and carrier customers.

Under the terms of the agreement Telco Systems will supply Carrier grade demarcation and aggregation devices to extend FirstLight’s Carrier Ethernet network footprint and deliver more services. It will enable the company to connect new customers while complying with the rigid requirements for low latency, high availability and service provisioning agility.

The deal was completed following an extensive evaluation process in which Telco Systems competed against a major rival.

Telco System and FirstLight

FirstLight has already been using Telco Systems’ end-to-end solutions. Among others, the company deploys Telco Systems demarcation and aggregation solutions orchestrated by EdgeGenie. It also recently started to test in proof of concept the company’s CloudMetro for virtualized IT services at the network edge.

FirstLight provides fiber optic data, Internet, data center and voice services to enterprise and carrier customers in New York and Northern New England with connectivity to Canada, linking more than 2,000 locations in service with nearly 15,000 additional locations serviced by its nearly 275,000 fiber mile network.
