Telco Systems Participates In EANTC’s Interoperability Test Showcase During MPLS & Ethernet World Congress

Paris, France — February 9, 2011 — Telco Systems, a multi-service Carrier Ethernet access and demarcation solution provider today announced successful participation in an extensive interoperability test organized by EANTC AG (European Advanced Networking Test Center). Telco Systems’ T-Marc and T-Metro product families performed successfully in the areas of IP/MPLS, Ethernet ring protection, and clock synchronization for radio access networks. The results are being showcased this week during the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress in Paris.

Major effort was put into the testing of frequency synchronization, boundary and transparent clocks based on IEEE 1588-2008 as well as Ethernet Synchronous Messaging Channel (ESMC). The T-Marc 254H, T-Marc 3208SH, and T-Metro 7124S participated in these tests successfully with several other vendors. The T-Metro 7224, a 10G provider edge device, successfully participated with LDP signalled PWs in the IP/MPLS and MPLS-TP interworking test, while the T-Marc 380 and T-Metro 7124S participated in the ITU-T Y.1731 performance monitoring testing. In the area of Ethernet Ring Protection Switching, Telco Systems T5C-XG, T-Marc 380 and T-Metro 7124S all successfully performed in both single and dual rings failovers.

“As MPLS and Carrier Ethernet technologies mature, service provider expectations for straightforward and efficient multi-vendor deployments in their networks are rising,” said Carsten Rossenhoevel, Managing Director at EANTC. “As we have seen at EANTC’s latest interoperability test, Telco Systems has reached a milestone on the way to a vendor-agnostic Ethernet network that performs to the exacting standards we have come to expect.”
