Telco System open vCPE solution get maximum score at GlobalData competitive landscape assessment

Telco Systems virtual customer premise equipment (vCPE) solutions have won the highest score at a competitive landscape assessment carried by research company GlobalData.

Analyst Emir Halilovic compared Telco Systems NFVTime open vCPE solutions suite, with similar vCPE solutions of four other vendors and ranked Telco Systems solutions as “Very Strong” granting it the highest rank.

According to GlobalData, enterprises and service providers are using vCPE solutions to replace network, security and communications equipment of a traditional branch office network with a more flexible, automated, software-based infrastructure.

The new infrastructure supports network automation, enables rapid service introduction, and reduces delivery costs. vCPE is quickly becoming one of the most popular virtual network function (VNF) solutions and is based on ETSI standards for network functions virtualization (NFV) and management and orchestration (MANO).

The main drivers of vCPE adoption are service providers’ intention to meet demand for new and higher value managed enterprise services, in a timely manner.

A vCPE model enables them to offer flexible services using a programmable computing device, capable to run network functions as software in a virtualized environment. The solution also enables the deployment of additional security, or communication services as software running on the CPE equipment itself, at the network edge, or in operators’ data center.
